What We Believe

MISSION STATEMENT

We are a multigenerational church that is reaching out with the Gospel of Christ and sharing God’s love with our community in practical ways.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Word of God

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak.

(2Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

God

We believe in the one personal, transcendent, living God, the creator, sustainer, and sovereign ruler of all things. He is self-existent, immutable, and works all things according o the counsel of His will. God’s foreknowledge is exhaustive and not dependent on human decisions and actions. He eternally exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They execute distinct but harmonious roles in creation, providence, redemption nd consummation. They are equal in nature, attributes and perfections. The holy triune God is worthy of our worship, confidence and obedience.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

The Father

We believe in God the Father; an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs ofhumanity, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin, death and condemnation all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

(Genesis 1:1; John 3:16; Romans 8:1, 29-30)

The Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son, who has precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We believe further that He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We also believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible, pre-millennial return from heaven.

(John 1:14; Luke 1:26-35; 1 Peter 1:18-23; Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 1:10;

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality and His work in regeneration, sanctification, and preservation. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to implement Christ’s work of redeeming the lost, and to empower the believer for Godly living and service.

(John 16:7-13; Ephesians 1:13-14, 2:10, 3:20, 5:18; Philippians 1:6)

Salvation

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We further believe that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, was purchased by Jesus Christ on the cross, and is received by faith, apart from any human merit, works or ritual and is an eternally secure relationship with God. We further believe salvation results in righteous living, good works, proper social concern, and eternal life in heaven with Christ.

(Ephesians 2:8-10; John 3:16, 10:28-29, 14:1-3; James 1:22-25; Romans 6:23;

1 Corinthians 15:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:17; Psalm 23)

Christian Conduct

We believe that the supreme task of believers is to glorify God in their life and that their conduct should be blameless before the world. We believe that as “children of God” we should strive to live a pure and holy life reflecting the Holiness of our Heavenly Father. We hold that every believer is equally a priest before God and shares in the responsibility of the total ministry of the church. We further believe that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions and that they should seek to realize for themselves the full stature of maturity in Christ.

(1Peter 1:15-16, 2:9; Hebrews 12:1-2)

Angels

We believe God created angels as spirit-beings possessing power and intellect, to worship and serve Him and to minister to believers. Most of the angels kept their first estate of holiness and presently worship God and serve His purpose.

(Matthew 22:30; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:4; Revelation 7:11-12)

Satan

One of the angels, Lucifer, fell because of the sin of pride, thereby becoming Satan. He masquerades as an angel of light. Though Satan is powerful, he subject to God’s will. He is the author of deceit, seduction and murder. Satan and the fallen angels who followed him, known as demons, are subject to Christ’s authority and judgment because of Christ’s death on the cross, and resurrection, sealing their judgment in an everlasting lake of fire.

(Genesis 3:1-7; Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:13-16; 2 Corinthians 12:7;

1 Thessalonians

The Last Things

We believe in the sudden, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ with His saints from heaven, with power and great glory on a day know only to God the Father. We believe that those who have accepted God’s gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ at the point of physical death, enter into God’s eternal glory. They shall be fully blessed in the presence and service of God, whom they shall see and enjoy throughout the ages. We believe that all unsaved persons at the point of physical death, are destined for eternal separation from God. They will be resurrected, judged and cast into an existence of eternal punishment.

(Matthew 24:30, 36; John 5:25-29; Philippians 3:21; Revelation 21:6-7;

Hebrews 9:27, 10:25)
